Ecotourism education at Tai Poutini Polytechnic is new, innovative and industry focussed. With tutors who have extensive experience in the industry and a location second to none for outdoor activities, this is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in this exciting new sector.

The focus of training in Ecotourism is to arm the student with knowledge of New Zealand's natural, cultural and heritage environment and give them the skills to pass this knowledge on in an interesting way. Other skills such as first aid, guiding skills and outdoor skills also help prepare our graduates for this exciting industry.

All training has a strong industry focus and is not about keeping the learning on campus, it is about getting out there in the environment and touching and feeling things.

The West Coast is a stunning place to study the environment because it is such a playground for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.
