I'm an overseas resident, can I apply for these jobs?

You need to be a NZ citizen or a person with NZ residency status to apply for permanent government positions. In general, foreign nationals can apply for temporary government positions but preference would be given to citizens/residents.

Foreign nationals can apply for non-government positions. However, you would need to ensure that you meet immigration visa rules - see www.immigration.govt.nz

Can I place an advert on the site?

Yes you can, however there is a charge for job advertisements - see Advertising with NZ Conservation Jobs.  Advertising conferences and training is free, just send the details to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Can I send you my CV?

No.  We are a job advertising agency and not an employer.  As a rule of thumb, don't send a CV unless you are invited to apply for a vacancy or submit expressions of interest.

How do I write a CV?

There's a great resource over at www2.careers.govt.nz on how to write CVs.  There are examples of several different CV styles along with a CV builder.  Check it out at www2.careers.govt.nz/how-to-get-a-job/cvs-and-cover-letters/

There's also a guide to preparing a competency-based CV at www.customs.govt.nz/news/resources/corporate/Documents/competencybasedcv.pdf
