 Can you imagine yourself in a job that takes you outdoors for most of the week, combined with office-based tasks.

You will be managing your time and territory, working with the public, inspecting properties to ensure landowners control mainly plant but may include some animal pests in the interests of agricultural production and protection of biodiversity values. This is combined with a mix of pest plant control, biological control and a limited amount of biodiversity work.

The job of a Biosecurity Officer gives you the ability to understand the impact of pests on agriculture and the ecology and biodiversity of the region. You will also need to have excellent people skills to work in this compliance/enforcement role and computer skills are required.
