Careers in conservation

As Field Advisor, you will help to maintain the Council’s drainage network, undertake property inspections to ensure compliance under the Resource Management and Biosecurity Acts , carry out pest control, including trapping, poisoning and shooting vertebrate pests  and participate in the Flood Response Team.

You will need relevant experience and ideally, have experience in vertebrate pest control along with some knowledge of the Resource Management and Biosecurity Acts. A full driver’s licence is essential, as are sound computer skills and the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.

Along with a love of the outdoors, you need to be fit, active, highly motivated and a good communicator.
